Hello, my name is Ken, proud father, bread baker, pastry chef, foodie, saltwater fisherman and lazy gardener. 

If it's food: I like to play , grill, bake, saute, smoke, blacken, steam/sous vide and eat it raw.

 my new project : Mobile Food Concession

Umami's Smokytown "Tejas au GoGo"   just a few of the names I'm thinking about for a mobile kitchen (glorified taco truck). However I am leaning towards "PHO-King Tacos" .

 Of course there's the obligatory and  face book with a link to a menu for previewing today's fare.

Still looking for the right truck, but really need Houston's (health department) regulations to come inline with vendors and consumer needs and stop taking directions from anti small business unionist.

Yes, it's my very own Wood Fired Pizza Oven. A surprise from my brother Casey. Hey, are you ready for some pie? This oven gets hot (very) and then in goes the pies.  A few minutes later out it comes, the best Pizza or Calzone ever. The wood fire and smoke give incredible depth to the flavors of the crust and toppings. Just stacked a load of Pecan wood in the greenhouse to keep it out of the weather. Dang it's already gone, this thing loves a wood.

My brothers were at the game of a lifetime. Game 4 NLDS Play offs October 9, 2005. Houston vs. Atlanta game played on for 18 innings.

Astros beat the Braves 7/6 and won the series 3-1.

Astros won the National League pennant by beating St. Louis Cardinals and into the World Series for the first time in their 44 year franchise history.
